All welcome to this photography adventure, which is designed for hobbyists, enthusiasts, and seasoned photographers. We will be exploring a pre-scouted route, allowing us the opportunity, subject to the weather to create meaningful images, this is not a workshop.
A photography adventure is designed to take you to places that you’ve never been to before without all the hassle of meticulous planning.
This year’s trip will take place on Sunday 22nd May, sailing from Ilfracombe at 9 am.
Everyone is welcome – birdwatchers or those who would just like a peaceful day on this beautiful island.
We also hope to include a sail around the island to see the seabirds and seals.
A bar and buffet will be available onboard
- Boarding at Ilfracombe from 8.30 am
- Sailing at 9 am
- Excluding the Lundy, which photography know-how on hand as required
- Returning to Ilfracombe at 6.30 pm (approx)
Please enter the full names and genders of your passengers in the ‘Passengers’ box above. This is a health and safety requirement for the ship.
Lundy’s own ship, the MS Oldenburg, is a graceful motor vessel, comfortable and built on traditional lines. Below decks she retains her original panelling and brass fittings, but has been skillfully modernised to provide heated saloons, bar, buffet, shop and information centre.
The bar offers a wide range of drinks and a relaxing atmosphere, whilst hot and cold food is provided at the buffet. You can while away the time in our well stocked shop or find out more about the island at the information centre.
On fine days there is plenty of space on deck and if you are lucky you may be treated to the company of a playful pod of dolphins who often delight in following the ship.
We are hopeful that the trip can be run this year, but it is obviously dependent on the ongoing COVID-19 situation. Updates and information regarding the trip and the availability of tickets will be posted on this page and circulated via email.
The date is chosen after taking into account tide times, which govern sailing and return times. This is important as many people have to travel considerable distances, both before and after the event.
As much notice as possible and full refunds will always be given if a trip is expected to be cancelled.

“Mark’s passion for his art of photography, comes through in the warmth and professionalism he shows in all his workshops. He makes you feel welcome, relaxed and nothing is too much trouble! He simplifies instructions so that we can all understand. We all come away feeling greatly inspired and with new knowledge to become better photographers ourselves. His variety of workshops shows his broad knowledge. I particularly enjoyed the trip out onto Exmoor to photograph ponies and Highland cattle, where his enthusiasm is evident. The ambience of the smaller groups, where everyone is friendly and Mark inspires us to help each other, as well as sharing his tips and knowledge with us. I would thoroughly recommend attending any of his workshops.” Sue, Bridgwater, Somerset.
